Spread a Smile brings joy and laughter to seriously ill and hospitalised children and their families during long hospital stays. Through in-person and virtual visits, their team of entertainers – from magicians and face-painters to musicians and therapy dogs – generate moments of distraction and excitement, helping young patients and their families to face their significant health challenges with optimism and positivity.
In 2022-23, they will support 8,000 children across the UK and deliver over 6,000 in-person bedside visits and 2,000 virtual visits, in partnership with 30 hospitals – an increase of over 200% since the start of COVID-19 due to extraordinary demand.
